My motivation to create artwork comes from the desire to express the poignant chaos of life. I want to relate the human drama to the larger context of nature through painting. Nature, which is constantly changing and us, being one with nature, are in a continual state of change or flux.

I paint figuratively, often distorting the human form to articulate this idea of flux while simultaneously expressing an emotional or intellectual state. I am interested in the visual dynamics created when these two ideas overlap and combine. The results are as close as I can get to the chaos that I want to express. The chaos of myriad events, places, people, thoughts, feelings all colliding in an infinite combination generating the continually new world.
